I got into Midi guitar last year. I've just noticed that I've got something odd happening with my sounds. It's kind of warbling sound. It's like a tremolo effect but without any evenness. Some of the strings are going up and down in pitch.
The guitar has a Graphtech Ghost piezo bridge saddles into an Axon AX 100 MkII, into a Kore2 hardware controller which is has USB into iMac 2.8 i7, Logic 9.
It was fine for a few months but now this strange variation in pitch, which only happens intermittently. When i play a piano sound on it, it sounds like Les Dawson is on the keys!

Johnnymac,

You need to check a few things:

a) Pitch bend = whatever patch you're using with the Axon, make sure the pitchbend is ON or OFF according to the sound you want to use externally. If you have it on and slide your fingers in the neck, it will send a pitch bend message to your external synth, even if it's a piano sound;

b) Guitar tuning = if it's not dead on, the Axon may be trying to "guess" the note;

c) Check Kore 2 manuals for their midi implementation and see if it filters the midi messages in any way;

d) Update your Axon to the latest firmware and editor.

To work with Axon and Logic Pro you have to work a LOT until you get desirable results. If you have 6 instances of a synth and use STRINGMODE=SEPERATE, remember to "auto demix by channel" in Logic. It is always preferable to build an environment for midi guitar.
