Hiya all!
I'm Mike, and a newcomer to this forum.
A little background, I'm a Londoner now living in Essex England and have been playing in bands since the early 60's. Mainly a bass player, but recently trying my hand at guitar. I'm also an amateur luthier having studied violin making and built in the region of 20 guitars and basses.
Having seen the Burr Johnson videos, I decided to build myself a midi guitar fitted with the Ghost system. I completed my setup with the Axon AX100 mk11. No problems there, but that's where my knowledge ended! Unfortunately for me, I completely missed out on the midi era, and have zero understanding of it.
To be honest, I'm happy just to flick through the presets and enjoy the wonders of different instruments coming from my fingers, so here is my first question to the forum!
The Axon handbook says that it has 500 sounds, and lists them at the back. The presets are O.K. for now, but I'd love to hear some sounds from the list. How can I access these sounds and is it possible to make them into presets?
I'm sure I can hear a few giggles, but honestly I am really that clueless. I read that most guys feel the sounds are rubbish and recommend an external sound source, but I'd like to explore what there is first if possible.
I hope an understanding member can help a new old geezer like me!
All the best,
MikeG.

Hi Mike,

I'm an old geezer myself, living in Southend. I don't have all the answers, but am enjoying using MIDI, and guitar is my main instrument. Nice to see you here.

Mike

Hi Mike,

welcome aboard.

I strongly recommend to use the software editor since it makes the use of the AXON much easier. There you have access to all the sounds in a drop down menu.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Philipp, I did look on the editor briefly, but the drop down sound list seems to be the same as the preset sounds. I'm just wondering where the sounds are that are listed in the back of the manual.
Cheers,
Mike.

Thank you Philipp, I found the list, I was looking at the drop down menu at the top left of the editor. I have not connected my Axon to the editor yet, I'm still playing with it as a stand alone unit. Can these sounds be saved as presets?
Forgive my ignorance on these things, at the moment I feel like a boy playing with a man's toy!
Again, thanks for your time.
Mike.
