I noticed on the latest editor that patch lists can be loaded. Does anyone have a patch list for the Motif XS Rack? I checked on Yamaha site, Stienburg, and Motifilator, no luck. If anyone knows where this patch can be found or if you have the patch. I would appreciate the info.

You can do it yourself for free- just go to:

http://www.xfactory-librarians.co.uk/products.html

and download the software, hook up the Motif and create the Cakewalk instrument file.

Thanks Much
Will give this a try, although the software is said to be for the rack ES and doesn't mention the XS. As for free it looks like they want $ 25 for the registration key so you can save the files.

Hi. I'm interested in learning about this, if it is what I think it is...

Are you saying that the editor (8.1.10) for the AX 100 MK II can load instrument definition/patch files? If so, how?

thanks.

Yes! That is what I am saying.
In the editor select the presets tab.
right click on the instruments button
pick load patch list
go to your directory containing the patch list, and load it
"the editor default directory is somthing like **program files\ TerraTec\ AX100\Patchlists\..."
or somthing similar, but you can load a list from any directory.

Once loaded your synth sounds will show under instrument, and when picked will load the correct MSB, LSB and program number

Ok...I figured it out last night. Wow...talk about an Easter Egg. Was this supposed to be a secret? I did not see this documented in the manual! Anyhow, thanks. This will be very helpful...

Now if I could just find a way to read the Motif ES Rack after I've changed the patches/names and automatically create a Cubase Script File....

I read about this somewhere, would have posted earlier but wasnt home yesterday. "Grand kids birthday".

there are more goodies in the editor, try right clicking on other keys.

see the 2nd post above, the software on the website seems to be made for the ES

I did not see a way to import Cakewalk/Sonar Instrument files (only Cubase Scripts).

I highly recommend John Melas' "Total Librarian" for the Motif ES. It lets you tweak just about every parameter for the ES. He will soon have a Mac version out:
http://www.jmelas.gr/motif/es/bundle.php
The other cool thing about this library is you can connect the ES via USB and your AXON via midi and have both editors up on the computer while triggering sounds on the ES.

Other than importing Cakewalk instrument definition files, the only issue I've had w/the ES is weather to use Axon's Common patch setting and the ES in Voice mode or use the Axon Separate mode w/the ES Multi mode. I found that the Common/Voice mode is faster and more acurate than the Separate/Multi mode...the only thing is when using the Common/Voice mode I can't use Axon's Hold and Layers. Any thoughts on how others are using this combination?

thanks again.

The right click on instruments button doesn't seem to be working for me. OSX 10.5 G5PPC,AX100 firmware v. 7.28, editor v. 3.1.12. Didn't work with the previous version of the editor either (3.1.10). Is that a Mac thing, or am I doing something wrong here?

I have an excel file somewhere if anyone wants it to make their own patchlist.

Works if you can copy a list of the patch names, you can paste them in a column in excel and then it can add all the other stuff, just need to setup the bank information.

A little work but works pretty good.

I want presets for the patchlists.
So if I used the korg, I push a button and I'd use the korg patchlist, push another button and I'd use the yamaha patchlist.

This is the only software I've found that sends 6 program changes on 6 channels at once.

I have the Mac version of the Editor loaded as well as Windows version. I could not get the right-click trick to import patches to work on the Mac...bummer.

Is this issue with loading patchlists on the mac version of the editor a known one, and can we expect an update to rectify this? Hopefully a Moderator can weigh in on this one................

I found a patchscript for the motif xs and successfully loaded it into the editor. Haven't tried it out yet. Here is the link: http://www.rivetedstudios.com/all-downl ... &start=140
